The Saptakoshi River is one of the largest rivers in Nepal, and it is known for its seven upper tributaries, which include the Tamor River. The Tamor River is a major river in eastern Nepal, which originates from the Kanchenjunga area and joins the Arun River to form the Sun Koshi.

The Sun Koshi River, in turn, has several tributaries, including the Dudh Koshi, Bhote Koshi, Tamakoshi River, Likhu Khola, and Indravati. The Saptakoshi River eventually crosses into northern Bihar, India, where it branches into distributaries before joining the Ganges River near Kursela in Katihar district.

These rivers are not only important for their role in the local ecosystem and water supply but also have cultural and religious significance in Nepal and India. The Saptakoshi River, for example, is considered a holy river by many Hindus, and it is associated with several myths and legends. The Tamor River is also a popular destination for adventure tourism and offers opportunities for river rafting and kayaking.

These include the Tamor River originating from the Kanchenjunga area in the east and Arun River and Sun Koshi from Tibet. The SunKoshi's tributaries from east to west are Dudh Koshi, Bhote Koshi, Tamakoshi River, Likhu Khola and Indravati. 

The Saptakoshi crosses into northern Bihar where it branches into distributaries before joining the Ganges near Kursela in Katihar district.The Tamor River, also called Tamor Nadi, is a major river in eastern Nepal, which begins around Kanchenjunga. The Tamor and the Arun join the Sun Koshi at Tribenighat to form the giant Saptakoshi.

The Arun River is a trans-boundary river that flows through both Nepal and Tibet. The river is a part of the Koshi or Sapt Koshi river system and originates in the Tibet Autonomous Region of China, where it is known as the Phung Chu or Bum-chu.

After entering Nepal, the Arun River flows through some of the most remote and rugged terrain in the country, including the Makalu-Barun National Park. The river is known for its deep gorges, steep gradients, and high volume of water, making it a popular destination for adventure tourism, such as white-water rafting and kayaking.

The Arun River eventually joins with the Tamor River and several other tributaries to form the Sun Koshi River, which is one of the largest rivers in Nepal. The Sun Koshi River, in turn, joins with the Saptakoshi River before eventually flowing into the Ganges River in India.

The Sun Koshi's headwaters are located in the Zhangzangbo Glacier in Tibet. Its upper course, the Bhote Koshi, is known as Poiqu in Tibet. Both river courses together form one bay that covers an area of about 3,394 km2 (1,310 sq mi).

Dudh Koshi (दुधकोशी नदी) is a river in eastern Nepal. It is the highest river in terms of elevation. The Imja Khola (Nepali: इम्जा खोला) is a tributary of the Dudh Koshi in Nepal. 

It drains the slopes of Mount Everest. The Khumbu Glacier melts into the Lobuche) River, which flows southward as the Imja Khola to its confluence with the Dudh Koshi at Tengboche. 

The Imja Khola collects water from the Imja Glacier through the Dingboche Valley. The Hongu River is a major river and valley in the Sankhuwasawa District. 
It is a tributary of the Hinku River, which subsequently flows into the Dudh Koshi.

Likhu River

The Likhu Khola is an important river in eastern Nepal, known for its scenic beauty and the opportunities it provides for outdoor activities such as trekking and rafting. The river is also an important source of water for irrigation and hydropower generation in the region. 

The Likhu Hydropower Project, with a capacity of 23 MW, is located on the Likhu Khola river in Ramechhap district. The river is also home to a variety of fish species, including the snow trout, which is found in the upper reaches of the river.
The catchment area of Likhu Khola bordered on the west by that of Tamakoshi and on the east by that of Dudh Kosi. The Likhu Khola has a length of about 75 km away.

Bhote Koshi

To be more precise, the Bhote Koshi is a trans-boundary river that originates in Tibet and flows into Nepal, where it joins the Sun Koshi river. It is also known as the Upper Sun Koshi and is a popular destination for white-water rafting and kayaking due to its steep gradient and turbulent rapids. 

The river is located to the northeast of Kathmandu and is a major source of hydropower for Nepal. The Bhote Koshi is the upper river course of the Sun Koshi, known as Poiqu in Tibet. It is part of the Koshi River system in Nepal.
